Where the Free Routes Break Against a Photo Date

"By date of call" is the phrase to read twice. The City schedules bulky pickups in the order they were requested, which is fair and entirely outside your control. If the photographer arrives Thursday and the pile is still in the alley, it is either in the shoot or back in the garage, and the second is worse.

The second limit is the property line. The City collects from the alley right-of-way and will not come onto private property. Everything in the garage has to be carried out there by somebody, and a water heater, a chest freezer or a loaded workbench is not a one-person job before work.

The third is who does the hauling. The collection stations are for residents moving their own household goods; anyone receiving payment to haul from a residential site is turned away, and commercial waste of any type is refused. A Crew's Load or a Container in the Driveway

If the garage is genuinely full — a decade of storage, a workshop, an inherited house — the real choice is a crew that loads and leaves versus a container that sits until you fill it. The City provides 30-cubic-yard open-top construction containers to its own customers, billed on the water bill, through that same 432-685-7278 number. During a listing window it works badly, because a 30-yard open-top in the driveway is the most photogenic object on the property and not in a flattering way. A crew that carries, loads and clears in a single visit leaves the driveway empty for the shoot. A Sequence That Fits a One-Week Window
